Rachelle Friedman is a motivational speaker and author of the books The Promise: A Tragic Accident, a Paralyzed Bride, and the Power of Love, Loyalty and Friendship. The brave lady went ahead to do a photo shoot to break the stereotypical ideas that we have towards the disabled people.
Rachelle Friedman did a lingerie photoshoot with Cosmopolitan. Although she admits that she has struggled with body image issues after her paralysis. The use of a catheter made her conscious of her body image. But by doing this photo shoot she putting across the message that people with disabilities have sexuality just like everyone else.

Rachelle was paralysed in May 2010 after an accident when she was playfully pushed into a pool during her bachelorette party. She became paralysed from neck down post that accident, a year later she got married and also had a baby with help of a surrogate mother this year. Disabilities need not necessarily curbs one’s sexuality and she has proved it through this powerful photo shoot. There are too many misconceptions about a disabled woman’s sexuality, this photo shoot provides an opportunity to start a conversation about disability and sexuality.
