Now open: Flirt Boutique offers lingerie in the North LoopEXPAND

A bit of St. Paul crossed over to Minneapolis last weekend for the grand opening of Flirt Boutique’s second location. The weekend celebration featured chocolates, sparkling wine, boudoir photography, beauty samples, and a sneak peek at what the new store has to offer.

The St. Paul lingerie boutique, winner of City Pages “Best Lingerie Shop” in 2015, has expanded with a second location in the North Loop business district of Minneapolis. The new space is located in the Colonial Warehouse, where men’s fashion and furnishing store MartinPatrick3 also resides.

Both Flirts carry bras from made-in-the-USA brand Hanky Panky, sustainable lingerie line Underprotection, Antigel by Lise Charmel, and Eberjey. There’s accessories such as garter belts, stockings by Falke, and jewelry from local designer Helen Wang. Plus, a selection of perfumes, massage oils, and lingerie care items can be found in stores.

Flirt is also the sole Twin Cities retailer for Wisconsin-based, bespoke lingerie line Jagress Intimates.

Although Jagress Intimates will be offered at both locations, according to Flirt manager Maria French, there won’t be a lot of overlap between merchandise available at each store. The new space will carry items with bolder styles, modern shapes, and geometric prints, which is may be a bit unexpected for those familiar with the St. Paul location’s offerings on old-school Hollywood glam.

“The Minneapolis store will focus on the young professionals that live and work in the neighborhood who are looking for something chic and contemporary but still feminine,” says French.

There may also be plans for the Minneapolis location’s basement, which is currently under construction. “[We] are throwing around the idea of doing resort and swimwear,” she says. “We went to Market in New York, and saw some swimwear lines we fell in love with.”

As for future parties, shoppers can look forward to collaborative events with nearby bridal boutique L’Atelier and MartinPatrick3.
