Ashley Graham is first plus-size model to grace Sports Illustrated cover

Daily Mail claims that, aside from Ashley Graham, the mixed martial artist, judoka, and actress Ronda Rousey, and fashion model Hailey Clauson, have been announced publicly as cover stars for the 2016 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.
The highly-anticipated yearly edition, which reach at the booth features plus-size model and body image activist Ashley Graham to the cover of its own swimsuit issue. In fact, she was one of the first curvy or plus-size models to appear in the issue itself, first in an advertisement last year, and then within the editorial pages for this year’s issue. When she unveiled the cover on Instagram, Graham – who’s a lingerie model for Lane Bryant – said it’s for “every woman who felt like she wasn’t handsome enough because of her size”.
Fresh off her “Saturday Night Live” hosting gig, the UFC fighter was named to the cover of the 2016 “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit” Edition. Rousey joked she thought she was “in the wrong spot” while Graham couldn’t muster up much more than an “Oh my God!”
Rousey added that she was humbled to be included on the iconic magazine’s cover.
And the Sports Illustrated team is standing behind some of these new changes.

Happy with their decision to put Ashley on the front of the magazine, that will be released on 15 February, the spokes people for SI said, “Ashley Graham is a sultry, feminine masterpiece. She’s a Phoenix, as fiery and lovely as any mythical creature ever depicted”.
The issues hit newsstands Monday.
Clauson, a two-time SI Swimsuit model, ditched her bikini top for a racier shot that was also snapped by Macari.
