And you thought NFL fans can cause a scene.

A group of scrappy spectators stole the show during a Lingerie Football League match-up between the Saskatoon Sirens and Regina Rage in Canada — with a 25-second clip of the indoor football fisticuffs posted to YouTube on Wednesday.

It’s unclear what caused Saturday’s scuffle in the stands, but tensions were flaring as the hometown Sirens had to claw back against the Rage.

Security tried to break up the brawl.

“When we were on commercial break, it got ugly in the stands,” one of the game’s commentators said in the video.

“These two cities hate each other, and it carried over into the crowd,” another commentator said. “It was a nasty fight.”

The footage shows women whacking one another and men’s shirts getting pulled off.

Normally, the action is on the field, where the scantily-clad female players wrestle over the pigskin.

In the end, the Rage rallied to win 26-20, although a rematch is set for Oct. 21.

According to local reports, the brawl was one of two that night. Eleven spectators got ejected, including two people who went streaking and disrupted the game.

“It is a younger, male crowd, it’s a Saturday night, people have a few drinks before they get to the event and they have another couple in the building,” Scott Ford, a spokesman for the Credit Union Centre, where the game was held, told The StarPhoenix newspaper.

The Lingerie Football League’s American franchise was in the spotlight last month, when it was reported that controversial replacement refs used by the NFL were fired by the panty-wearing league because they were “not in line with our expectations.”
