Faves for fall
InStyle magazine offers these suggestions:
A colorful headband: The perfect finishing touch to any outfit.
The peplum silhouette: This waist-defining silhouette is feminine and flattering.
Tangerine lip: A fun and playful way to add a pop of color.
Top-handle bag: This ladylike purse option is practical and chic. It’s perfect for work, travel and play.
Wide waist belt: Instantly dresses up everything from a casual cardigan to a classic coat.
Model offers tips
Victoria’s Secret model Miranda Kerr gives classic pieces a modern twist for a look that’s casual, but always on trend. She shared her style in People Style Watch.
Play with proportion: Pairing oversize jackets, boxy knits and loose layers with cropped skinnies is fashionable and flattering.
Work different textures: Leather jackets and pants, chambray shirts and chunky sweaters add interest to a basic palette.
Finish with simple extras: Cat-eye shades, wide-brim hats and unfussy bags make a statement without being too much.
