The curtains had barely been drawn on Saturday night’s Lingerie Fighting Championships 20: A Midsummer Night’s Dream before MMA pundits were calling it a game-changer for the popular women’s league.

Journalists from as far afield as Australia and Britain and from Sports Illustrated covered the event at the Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. A record LFC audience witnessed eight bouts featuring 16 women fighting in nothing but lingerie.

“Never mind what they were wearing,” LFC’s CEO Shaun Donnelly said. “These were some of the most entertaining fights you’ll see anywhere.”

The event was broadcast live on PPV on more than 1,000 cable and satellite systems across North America, including ATT, Bell, Brighthouse, CableVision, Charter, Comcast, Cox, DirectTV, Dish, Rogers, Shaw, TimeWarner and Verizon.

“Lingerie Fighting Championships has put a unique spin on MMA that has captured the imagination of audiences,” Shaun added. “Each event has outsold the one prior, and the level of competition is improving with every outing.

“It’s hard to point to just one match Saturday and say that was the standout. They were all really intriguing. I think cable systems and fans alike are starting to realize what an entertaining product LFC is.”

LFC20 featured four women making their professional MMA debuts, including 20-year-old Chloe “Ladykillah” Cameron, a bikini model from San Diego, and Shelly “Aphrodite” DaSilva, who honed her skills in South America.

LFC favorites Sheila “Crash” Cardinal and Las Vegas’ Maine “Main Event” Morgan and Riley “Nuclear” Norris returned, while LFC champion Feather “The Hammer” Hadden put her belt on the line against Salt Lake City’s Vivian “The Valkyrie” Voss in an entertaining main event.

Saturday night’s LFC20 results:

Fight 1: Chelsea London (Orlando, Fla.) defeats Lauren Erickson (Philadelphia)

Fight 2: Sheila Cardinal (Damascus, Syria) defeats Shelly DaSilva (Los Angeles)

Fight 3: Cali Cat (Fresno, Calif.) defeats Jenevieve Serpentine (Sedona, Ariz.)

Fight 4: Riley Norris (Las Vegas) defeats Jenny Valentine (Pittsburgh, Pa.)

Fight 5: Kris Blackwell (Edmonton, Alberta) defeats Chloe Cameron (San Diego)

Fight 6: Allie Parks (Dallas) defeats Jessie Santos (El Paso, Texas)

Fight 7: Maine Morgan (Las Vegas) defeats Holly Mei (San Diego)

Fight 8: Feather Haden (Burlington, Iowa) defeats Vivian Voss (Salt Lake City)

“We’re very excited with the direction things are going,” Shaun said post-event. “World-class venue, live television, beautiful fighters. What’s not to love?”

Hard Rock Hotel Casino

Arguably one the coolest joints in town, the Hard Rock Hotel Casino houses some of Vegas’ best entertainment, restaurants and nightlife.

At Hard Rock, it’s all about the music. From the light fixtures made out of drum cymbals and guitar shaped door handles to stage costumes and tools of the trade of legendary musicians displayed on the walls, the hotel screams rock and roll. The Hard Rock’s Joint has hosted some the biggest names in music — from The Who to Bob Dylan to hometown heroes, The Killers.

Aside from the music venues, the pool at the Hard Rock is one of its biggest attractions. Spread out over 4.7 acres, the pool area features swim-up blackjack, a bar and grill, private cabanas, a bevy of secluded nooks, a waterfall and an extensive live music venue with a dance floor. During the summer, the pool transforms into the Rehab club on Sunday afternoons.

The resident nightclub Body English fuses European elegance with a rock star bachelor pad and it often a hot spot for visiting celebs and popular DJs. Vintage rock memorabilia lines the walls at Wasted Space, Hard Rock’s anti-club.

Restaurants at Hard Rock are just as hip as the rest of the casino. Pink Taco serves up Mexican dishes, as well as a Central American and Caribbean menu. Nobu, one of five worldwide Japanese-specialty restaurants from famed Nobu Matsuhisa, satisfies a different taste. For round-the-clock cuisine, Mr. Lucky’s 24/7, is sure to ease your appetite even after a Vegas-all-nighter.
