Cate Blanchett is such a private person—an unknowable actress in a sea of self-promoting celebrities on social media—that Vanity Fair titled its 2009 cover story on the Oscar winner “A Hollywood Elusive.” She keeps her private and family lives very much separate, never really discussing motherhood, marriage, or other personal mishaps for the sake of shilling a film. The veteran stage actress’s privacy-protecting precedent is why we feel it is worth reporting that, on Sunday, Blanchett broke her flawless façade, ever so briefly, to give fans a glimpse of her personal life, offering up details about, of all things, her “most embarrassing, embarrassing underwear.” As the face of SK-II skin care, the Carol star made a rare red-carpet appearance at the brand’s New York City pop-up shop. While there, she made the curious confession to People, explaining, “I still have underpants my mother made me in high school. I just—something about going to the lingerie section, I don’t know what—I get overwhelmed, I never know what to buy,” Blanchett said of her accidental vintage-lingerie collection. “So I have the most embarrassing, embarrassing underwear,” the actress continued, adding charmingly, “It’s so old at this point, it’s like, ‘prison gray.’ ” Mysteriously, People does not explain how the actress arrived on the conversation subject of underwear. Perhaps the red-carpet reporter asked what she wore to feel beautiful—“perhaps some expensive lingerie?” And Blanchett digressed with her funny, self-effacing anecdote about her lingerie aversion. Or maybe Blanchett, bored by the interview fanfare, entertained herself by improv-ing a stream-of-conscious monologue about a drawer full of decades-old, handmade underthings and a lingerie phobia. Or maybe this mysterious underwear musing was part of an elaborate spell Blanchett is casting on all of us. We’re tempted to believe the second alternative, just because, well, has anyone told Blanchett about the Internet? (If not, can someone please send her a few links?) While still speaking to People, this time on the subject of skin care, Blanchett also recalled how her mother convinced her to protect her fair complexion and quit tanning as a young woman. The actress took her mother’s advice so seriously that she actually swung in the opposite direction entirely: “So I then went goth instead,” the actress said. “I went the other way: dyed my hair—the whole thing.” Needless to say, VF.com is offering a significant bounty for the safe delivery of a photo depicting teenage Blanchett during her goth phase. RITA ORA stripped down to her underwear to show off her trim curves and ample cleavage in sexy black underwear.
The X Factor judge, who has never been shy about flaunting her figure, posed up a storm for a series of social media snaps as she promoted her new range for Tezenis.
The singer, 24, oozes sex appeal as she poses with her arms above her head in a skimpy black lace set.
Her see-through underwear sets pulses racing as she seductively stares at the camera.
A second snap sees her closeup with chains draped around her neck drawing attention to her ample cleavage in her push-up bra.
Rita, who has 6.1.million Instagram followers, captioned the snap: ‘#ritaora4tezenis preview… Coming soon! @tezenisofficial,’
The teaser snaps are a taste of what’s to come and we’re sure the new range will sell out pronto with advertising like this.
Rita also shared a snap with new boyfriend Travis Barker as it emerged he is still living with his ex-wife Shanna Moakler.
But a representative of the Blink-182 drummer confirmed the pair are an item last week.
We’re sure Travis will LOVE Rita’s new underwear range and might get to enjoy it when his wife finally moves out…
