No anime in history has generated the amount of discussion that Evangelion has, as audiences have now been debating the finer points of the franchise’s content and production for two decades. Was the TV series’ unorthodox ending strictly a case of budgetary constraints, or is it the purest version of Eva’s true message? In the closing scenes of End of Evangelion, has protagonist Shinji accepted or rejected the rest of human existence? Is creator Hideaki Anno ever going to actually make that fourth, and supposedly final, Rebuild of Evangelion theatrical feature?
For today, though, let’s brush aside those nebulous issues, and instead look at a question that has a definite answer: What would official Evangelion lingerie look like?
Anime fashion brand Super Groupies has just begun taking preorders for three bra and panty sets inspired by the three female Evangelion pilots. Up first is Rei, whose intimate apparel features the slogan, “Sleeker. Cuter. Lingerie that excites the heart.”
Of course Ayanami blue is used as an accent, along with the red and orange of Rei’s Evangelion Unit-00.
Look closer, and you’ll see that the lace patterning is in the shape of the Spear of Longinus, which Rei hurls into orbit while at the controls of her giant war machine.
Asuka’s set, meanwhile, is introduced with the slogan, “Girls want to fight, too. The lingerie of desire and passion.”
Once again, subtle touches of color reference Asuka’s Evangelion, in this case Unit-02’s eyes and body trim.
Finally, Mari, the newest addition to the sisterhood of Eva pilots, is the basis for this “Cute, adult lingerie” that will help to “Make every day special.”

The three sets are identically priced at 8,800 yen (US$70) and can be ordered directly from Super Groupies (Rei here, Asuka here, and Mari here). Delivery is scheduled for mid-December.

In an Autumn/Winter campaign that is “all about the woman,” Agent Provocateur lingerie company made the right call when they enlisted the help of SI Swimsuit model Rose Bertram to model their gorgeous new pieces.
Thought our Belgian rookie couldn’t get any hotter? Think again. Inspired by the work of Helmut Newton whose iconic images of women remain relevant today, this line celebrates the influence of major models and actresses like Sophia Loren, Kim Basinger, Cindy Crawford and Lara Stone.
“In a return to the old-school values that have underpinned Agent Provocateur’s aesthetic since the beginning, the focus for Autumn/Winter is on iconic, naturally sexy women, who have each embodied their eras and embodied womanhood in their own unique ways,” the lingerie company explained on their blog. “So forget the frills and fripperies, the studs and the sequins, and slip into something more sensual, like our all-woman AW15 icons.”
Quite simply, we can’t think of anyone better to “pour her glorious proportions into the barely-there” lingerie that Agent Provocateur has to offer.
