A confident, comfortable and beautiful girl needs to have a thorough know-how on her lingerie and night wear. The correct lingerie can make or break a bridal look. Kavita gives you a peek into the must-haves this season…

Lingerie is the foundation of any ensemble. It is not just about the innerwear. It also means to have a feel-good must-have essential which any girl would need as a magical fix-up to her daily woes. Most young girls are clueless or ignorant when it comes to choosing the right lingerie. Women must buy branded or good quality lingerie and night wear; they should not compromise spending on it.

Start From The Scratch Few quick must-buys:

l Corset which is usually under-wired can be a blessing in more ways than one. Girls who wish to fit in confidently and smoothly into their attires without showing the bulge should opt for this type of inner wear. The assets can be kept in check with under-wired or slightly padded lingerie. When choosing, make sure the padding is right, light and fits perfectly well. If the straps can be detached, you can very well don it under your cocktail gowns and stylish blouses. In fact having straps can be a boon, whether you opt for backless or off-shoulder.

l Plunge bra can be a boon if you are wearing a plunging or deep neckline. The cut in lingerie are inward so it does not peek through your neckline. They are similar to T-shirt bras and have smooth, seamless finish.

l Lace and satin inner wear. Do yourself a favour by buying yourself a good pair, even if it costs you a bomb, it’s worth an investment.

l Night gowns and baby doll chemise are a must if you wish to don a luxurious look. Especially, the satin, sheer, lace, cotton ones in deep hues or powder pink can look girly yet classy. Of course, you can also choose a length as per your mood, so a short or maxi piece can do the trick.

l Brides must own pyjama sets, in spaghetti top and boy shorts which look trendy and cute. From satin, lace, to cottons in pastel hues can spoil you with choice. And not –to-forget the ruffles and frill can give out an innocent look.

Go for a Balconette for wider necklines, a demi / pushup for deep necks to create a cleavage and multi-way to suit various styles.” Matching the colour of your lingerie to the clothing for all the occasions to avoid any lingerie show is ideal for all brides.

Very often women have been advised to not wear an under-wired or padded bra which is considered unhealthy or dangerous in the long run keeping the number of breast cancer cases reported across the globe. Smita opines on this issue, “ In India still the myth exists that underwire lingerie are not good for health. In reality no scientific study has proved any link between the two. A good underwire lifts your mood and enhances your look with the right support. Amanté uses underwire encased in a fortitude, which does not poke, with enhanced comfort through the day. The underwire should rest on your rib cage and not on your breast tissue.”

Smita Murarka’s tips on lingerie guide are:

l Build a Lingerie trousseau focusing on products which match the bridal apparel and have a touch of sensuality. Lace is the biggest trend, as nothing feels and looks more sensuous than an undercover of lace.

l If your blouse has a low- or wide-cut neckline, or very thin, string-like straps, you’ll need a bra that fits discreetly underneath. One of the best options is to go for a Balconette which has wide set straps, set in decorative lace, with detachable straps and bridal color tones.

l The common mistake brides make is to choose lingerie based on their figure shape. However the exact cup size is what should determine the shape of lingerie. For a woman of small cups, choose a full cover bra to hide the smallness and make it look fuller. For a big busted lady, demi cups are a good choice.

Calvin Harris recently named 2014 ‘the best year of his life.’

And it could have a lot to do with his cute new girlfriend Aarika Wolf, who follows a very high-profile split with The Voice coach Rita Ora.

The DJ, 31, and his 21-year-old American model girlfriend stepped out for a romantic dinner at LA’s Giorgio Baldi on Saturday, Calvin looking particularly pleased with himself.

After splitting with Rita in June, Calvin and his new girlfriend met when she appeared as one of the bikini-clad beauties in the video for his chart-topper Blame.

They confirmed their romance after he closed September’s iHeartRadio music festival in Las Vegas and pictures of the pair getting close aboard a private jet were posted on his social media.

To ring in the New Year, Calvin shared an up-beat picture to his Instagram page, which he captioned: ‘That’s me smiling’

It continued: ’Because it’s been an unbelievable year, maybe the best year of my life.

Among artists such as John Newman, Ellie Goulding and Haim, Calvin also collaborated with his then-girlfriend Rita in March 2014.

The DJ and Rita publicly fought over rights to the single I Will Never Let You Down, which was written and produced by Calvin and sung by Rita, after they split in June 2014.

He embarrassed the singer when he announced that their year-long romance was over, via Twitter, saying: ’To address speculation – myself and Rita ended our relationship some time ago. She is a beautiful, talented woman I wish her all the best’

Amicable? After splitting in June 2014, the pair were said to be amicable but he later refused to let her use the track I Will Never Let You Down, which he wrote and produced and she sang, on television or gig performances

Later though, he refused to give her permission to perform I Will Never Let You Down at the Teen Choice Awards, as well as subsequent TV appearances.

Calvin tweeted to his 4.6m followers last month: ‘You’ll only know 1 side of the story RE Teen choice awards because I choose not to talk to the papers about every aspect of my personal life. But just know I had a damn good reason.’

His post was in response to an interview Rita had given to US radio DJ Ryan Seacrest in which she claimed her ex didn’t want her singing the track he penned as a tribute to their one-year romance before things went sour.

It was announced just this week that Rita and Calvin are due to go head to head in a BRITS 2015 battle on February 25, 2015.

They will go compete for Best British Single, with Rita’s I Will Never Let You Down and Calvin’s Summer, after Rita received a surprise Oscar 2015 nod for Beyond The Lights in the category of Best Original Song as it features in Fifty Shades Of Grey.

The news comes just after it was reported that Rita had moved her boyfriend of six months Ricky Hil into her North London home.
