Victoria’s Secret is launching in China—but don’t expect any bras and panties at its stores. The retailer is opening “VSBA” stores that sell beauty products and accessories, reports Lily Kuo at Quartz.
While they won’t initially sell lingerie, the stores could be a step towards entering that market, Kuo writes.
“… the entrance of one of the most iconic lingerie brand marks another stage in China’s transformation from the world’s low-cost garment manufacturer into a consumer in the premium clothing sector,” Kuo writes. “Selling lingerie to China’s growing middle class is likely Victoria’s Secret’s end goal.”
The Chinese market will likely take more research to crack.
In 2012, La Perla lingerie executive Tim Brasher told Jing Daily Chinese women have a more functional attitude toward lingerie than American or European women.

“The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Stewart has been trying to build her independence after her divorce from Kordell Stewart. She was shocked that he had filed for divorce, but she quickly got back on her feet and started focusing on her career. While she was married, she revealed that she wanted to start a career, but he wanted her to stay home with their future kids. Now, she can work on her career. According to a new Bravo report published on March 5, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” star Porsha Stewart is now revealing that she is starting yet another business venture.
“I am announcing that Team Porsha is in the beginning stages of our most recent addition to my beauty empire,” she has revealed. “Currently, I’m in negotiations to partner with very successful lingerie brand.” Of course, she is already working with her NAKED hair brand, so this expansion is a very interesting direction.
“I’m certain with their extensive knowledge of the lingerie business and my passion for beautifying women, this union will produce an amazing line of affordable lingerie for every woman,” she says. “I emphasize every because every woman deserves to feel sexy in less than clothes. Stay Tuned! We’re getting “NAKED” again.”
One has to wonder how her co-stars would react to her creating a lingerie line. She could partner up with Kandi Burruss, who does sex toys, meaning they could create a whole “sexy and strong women” brand.
