Jenna Ushkowitz’s motivational book about her rise to fame has been snapped up by publishers at St.Martin’s Press.
The actress/singer, who plays Tina Cohen-Chang on the hit TV show, will chronicle her upbringing as an adopted baby and help others achieve their dreams in the book, Choosing Glee.
The 26 year old tells The Hollywood Reporter, “People ask me, ‘How did you get here?’ Well, I learned how to fight for what I want.
“I learned to focus and work hard and not give up. I learned that every obstacle is really an opportunity.
“My goal is for you to walk away from this book looking at the world differently than when you started.
“It’s about how to have, do and be anything you want”.
Choosing Glee will also feature anecdotes about her time on the Broadway stage and as a regular on the Glee set. The book will be published next year (13).

We love Jenna Ushkowitz for her perky, earnest character Tina on Glee. This past season she really stood out–nailing solos and setting herself up to be a New Directions star in the coming year when her character starts senior year.
And in the Spring of 2013, we’ll get to know a lot more about Jenna herself and her inspiring rise to the top. She’s releasing a book called Choosing Glee that’s all about her life and how she “made it” in Hollywood.
Jenna will reveal the story of being adopted by a family in Long Island, NY when she was just a baby and how she was bitten with the acting bug at the age of three!
She’ll also talk about her days on Broadway–she was in the Tony award winning show Spring Awakening with Glee co-star Lea Michele. But of course you can expect lots and lots of stories and anecdotes about her life on the set of Glee!
“People ask me, ‘How did you get here?’ Well, I learned how to fight for what I want. I learned to focus and work hard and not give up. I learned that every obstacle is really an opportunity,” Jenna explains. “My goal is for you to walk away from this book looking at the world differently than when you started. It’s about how to have, do, and be anything you want.”
Will you read Jenna’s book? Who else from Glee do you want to write a book?
