Online language class ‘Sexy Mandarin’ with lingerie-clad models …

Most men would just love to participate in this class teaching Mandarin, the official Chinese dialect – Reason it is being taught by scantily clad glamorous female teachers.

However, feminists and anti-porn groups in China are said to be up in arms against this unconventional and titillating mode of teaching a foreign language

SexyMandarin.com is an online language school which utilizes the services of lingerie-clad glamour models to aid foreigners interested in learning Mandarin Chinese.

The online language portal’s motto is, “Learning Mandarin in an unconventional way.” Due to its unique manner of promotion and teaching technique, it has now become a runaway hit ever since it’s launch in December 2011.

The course’s first lesson called ‘What time is it?’ – is carried out by two lingerie-clad models who make pillow talk while wrestling with each other on a bed. So far the viewer-ship for the lesson online has had more than 300,000 hits.

Apparently the huge success of the online lessons posted on SexyMandarin.com is mainly due to Los Angeles’ San Fernando Valley (home to California’s porn industry) rather than Oxbridge.

The course’s latest lesson entitled Mirror is conducted by two lingerie-clad models who discuss their body shapes and diets. Wannabe teachers are required to produce a full-body photo and any relevant modeling or teaching experience.

This unique method of teaching a language has its takers. One guy named Guo Shibo beamed: “The Americans are so happy learning Chinese …. We would not go through so much pain if we learnt English the same way.” A happy user on Ku6 video website eulogized: “So eye-catching and heart-throbbing. No wonder they can learn it well!”

However, not all were impressed with the blatant display of flesh for a noble profession. Annie Chan, Chairwoman of Hong Kong’s Association for the Advancement of Feminism, slamming SexyMandarin.com told one newspaper, the website “eroticized” Chinese women.

Even the Executive Director of Hongkong’s Women’s foundation Sue-Mei Thompson, told the China Daily newspaper that her group was “vehemently opposed to gender stereotyping, especially anything that objectifies women as sex objects”.
