This Husband Had The Best Response To His Wife’s Airbrushed Lingerie Photos

This story could bring a tear to the eye of any woman who feels the slightest bit of insecurity when looking in the mirror. The dubious art of Photoshopping pictures into oblivion has been common place for decades (ever since the first version of Adobe’s program hit shelves in 1988). Matters only grew murkier with the rise of the selfie and the overused Instagram filters, which make nothing look real. There’s simply no such thing as a casual, unstaged, unmanipulated photo anymore.
It’s easy to fall into the trap of relying upon these digital tools, but when it comes to this husband, all he wanted was photos of his “real” wife. Granted, it took some overly airbrushed professional photos for him to realize his feelings, but all that matters is that he got there. The wife had hired a photographer to put together a portfolio of lingerie photos. The husband was crushed to open the picture book and see a different woman that the one he married, and he wrote a response. The photographer, Victoria Caroline, published the husband’s letter on Facebook:
“I don’t want you to think that I am in any way upset with you … but I have some food for thought that I would like to pass on to you. I have been with my wife since we were 18 years old, and we have two beautiful children together. We have had many ups and downs over the years, and I think … well, actually I KNOW that my wife did these pictures for me to ‘spice things up.’ … When I opened the album that she gave to me, my heart sank. These pictures … while they are beautiful and you are clearly a very talented photographer … they are not my wife. You made every one of her ‘flaws’ disappear … and while I’m sure this is exactly what she asked you to do, it took away everything that makes up our life. When you took away her stretch marks, you took away the documentation of my children. When you took away her wrinkles, you took away over two decades of our laughter, and our worries. When you took away her cellulite, you took away her love of baking and all the goodies we have eaten over the years.”
OOF. Thankfully, the husband didn’t have any hard feelings and knows what he needs to do to prevent a re-occurrence:
“I am not telling you all of this to make you feel horrible, you’re just doing your job and I get that. I am actually writing you to thank you. Seeing these images made me realize that I honestly do not tell my wife enough how much I LOVE her and adore her just as she is. She hears it so seldom, that she actually thought these photoshopped images are what I wanted and needed her to look like. I have to do better, and for the rest of my days I am going to celebrate her in all her imperfectness. Thanks for the reminder.”
What a guy.

Jasmine Stacey, 24, from Bournemouth, underwent surgery to remove part of her intestine when she was 20 and needed an ileostomy bag to replace the function of the missing organ,
The designer said she was inspired to come up with a stylish range of underwear by the lack of seductive garments available for women in her position.

‘I want to take the stigma away from having a stoma bag and prove you can still be sexy with underwear.
‘I want to get the message out there that it is not as bad as people think and that young people have stoma bags as well as old people.
‘We hope our underwear is stylish without being flimsy and empowers women to feel confident whether they have stoma bags, scars, or simply want more stomach control.

‘The lingerie is designed for all types of women in mind.’
Jasmine has suffered with Crohn’s disease, which causes inflammation of the lining of the digestive system, for 14 years. Surgery left her needing an ileostomy bag – similar to colostomy bags – to collect her body’s waste products because her colon was unable to function properly.
Jasmine added: ‘I felt awful after the operation. It was really difficult to deal with. It was a massive shock. It changed my body image.
‘You are having surgery to make your life better but it changes you in other ways.
‘I haven’t been this well in years and the stoma bag has helped.’
Jasmine recently took part in a raunchy calendar that saw 11 sufferers wearing underwear and showing off their stoma bags for charity Purple Wings, which supports bowel disease.
The roaring success of the campaign has reaffirmed that the pouches are no obstacle to being beautiful. Jasmine’s lingerie, created from British silk, takes inspiration from current catwalk trends with its ultra feminine and 1950s-inspired styles.
She hopes that it will help all woman with body image issues, not just those with bags, but says that it is a part of their lives that people have to accept.
‘People have to accept it.
It will be on offer at the upcoming trade market The Lingerie Edit at the Savoy Hotel in London in January
‘If they don’t accept it, they aren’t the person for me.
‘I always say that underwear is the foundation for confidence. If you are wearing nice underwear you feel better.
‘This underwear might give them that little boost of confidence.
‘All my friends love it and I’ve been told I’m an inspiration. I don’t think of myself that way though – I just like underwear.
‘I think a lot of women would wear it. I think they should just give it a go. You can be sexy no matter what you have got.’
The Jasmine Stacey Collection will be on offer at the upcoming trade market The Lingerie Edit at the Savoy Hotel in London in January, which will be attended by many leading stores and boutiques.
She hopes to eventually see it in the likes of Harrods and Selfridges.
Jasmine’s autumn/winter collection is available exclusively via her website at www.jasminestaceycollection.co.uk.

Lisa Cummins, how has had a stoma for just four months, posted a picture in a pair of the high-waisted underswear.
