San Antonio restaurant serves breakfast tacos with a side of lingerie

SAN ANTONIO — A new Mexican restaurant on the West Side aims to bring a Puro San Antonio alternative to Hooters, Twin Peaks and Bikinis.

Milo’s Restaurant, located at 4334 Culebra Road, serves Mexican cuisine, with favorites including pork chops, asada a la Mexicana and an assortment of breakfast tacos.

However, there is nothing traditional about the attire of Milo’s employees.

“It’s different,” said owner Milo Linan. “It’s sexy.”

The all-female wait staff takes and serves orders wearing little more than lace lingerie, short shorts, mini-skirts and swimwear.

Linan, 35, set up shop two months ago and said there isn’t an official dress code yet, but workers may get uniforms coming at a later date.

Wearing a mesh shirt to cover her lace bra and underwear, Linan promotes a friendly and fun atmosphere for customers and employees alike.

Linan decided to open her own restaurant after several years of experience in the food industry, which she said she really enjoyed.

Linan said she has received mixed reaction from customers, with guys mostly enjoying the experience, and ladies tending to be a little timid.

Waitress Sindy Sorto wore a modest pink shirt with short shorts, and said she enjoys working at the restaurant. She said men seem to like what she wears and their reactions are usually positive.

“They get happy,” she said. “Every guy that comes (eventually) comes back.”

Sorto said she likes the way Linan treats her, and they make sure that customers do not make them feel uncomfortable.

“We don’t let guys disrespect us,” said Sorto, adding that she and other employees have asked customers to leave if they misbehave.
