Name: Precious L. Williams, Esq.

Age: 35

Title: Founder and CEO, Curvy Girlz Lingerie, LLC

Location: Brooklyn, NY

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

Twitter: @curvygirlz

The gig: I create, design and sell lingerie for curvy women. I love helping curvy women celebrate their curves. Our lingerie is bold, stylish and fashion-forward. Ladies, throw out your granny panties!

The journey: In 2010, I fell in love with a man who literally changed my life and how I looked at myself. As a woman who was a size 28, I often felt ugly and invisible. When he came into my life, my attitude towards myself and my body changed! He loved lingerie, the sexier, the better! I just couldn’t find pretty underwear in my size. So I started my company to celebrate curvy women and help them show off what they have. I was a frustrated attorney who had no passion for my job. Once I decided to start a lingerie company, my world changed. I got excited about living again as I looked at the designs for my lingerie. I also lost over 100 lbs!

Her lingerie tip: When shopping, be bold and unexpected. Wear colors and go for something out of your comfort zone. Your partner will thank you! Every women should have a sexy babydoll in her collection. It looks good on any shape.

Her mantra: Go big or go home! Dream big and go for it right now! You are either building your dream or someone else’s. The best decision I made was to become my own boss. People know me for my company and what we do for our curvy girls.

Her biggest lesson learned: I realized early on that not everyone is going to support you. I had a designer who said that she should be the face of my company because she was white and that no one would ever buy from me. I promptly showed her the door and realized that who is in your corner matters. Always look for the motive with people in your circle.

Her next chapter: I created my Kickstarter “Love and Lingerie Experience Live” campaign so curvy girlz all over the nation can experience our lingerie. We have made a name for ourselves in the Northeast but it’s time to go bigger. We will be having champagne, fine chocolate and a lingerie shows in different cities. Dare to join! Dare to contribute! I want curvy girlz to feel comfortable in their own skin and show off what they have without fear. We celebrate the beauty of women everyday!

Her entrepreneur tip: Know everything about your business inside and out. How it makes money, the financials, and what makes you unique. Know all of this COLD! Her career highlight: Having Amazon.com call me to say that I am the game changer in plus size lingerie. We now have a partnership where my lingerie is sold on their site!

Her stress relievers: Spa days, checking out new restaurants and hanging out with my girlfriends.

Her power style accessory: My hot pink power suit. You cannot miss me in that!

Her work/life strategy: Stay true to myself. If it feels good, do it. Never look back and never think twice!

Her theme songs: “Bad” by Michael Jackson and “Diva” by Beyonce.

As Americans, we can go there, but what I learned about the Frenchwomen is that they’re always updating their lingerie . . . They’re not going to get caught in the emergency room not prepared. If they have to cut their clothes off, they’re going to be fabulous under there.” [Style.com]
