Video: Man caught breaking into lingerie store

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) – Police are searching for a man in connection with a “smash and grab” robbery of a south St. Louis adult store, Tuesday morning.  It happened at Patricia’s, on the corner of Gravois and Grand.  Surveillance video shows the suspect, a black male roughly in his thirties, throwing a brick through the glass front door, then crawling through himself.

“I thought he wasn’t the brightest tool in the shed,” area manager Susan Woodward said of the video. “I mean to go through the glass and get cut up, and he did get cut up going through.”

Once inside, the man never went near the cash register.   He seemed to know exactly what he was looking for.

“Normally people when they break into stores like ours they go for adult toys, or they go for movies,” Woodward said.  “You know, the cash obviously is locked up and he went directly for the ladies lingerie, underwear and corsets.”

After the rampage through the lingerie section, the man is seen crawling back through the door with an arm full of clothing.

Some items were found in a nearby alley off Arkansas St.  The suspect still hasn’t been identified.

MIDDLEBURY — Downtown Middlebury is home to the new Curve Appeal lingerie shop, offering lingerie in sizes for every body type, plus nontoxic, organic sensual products like massage oils.

Curve Appeal owner Kristin Lawson, a mother of three, has been doing house parties for women all over Vermont for nearly 10 years, and said her party customers expressed dissatisfaction with the lingerie options available to them in the area.
