NAPLES, FL -
Naples police need your help finding the two men who stole nearly $1,400 worth of underwear. The thieves targeted two stores at the Coastland Center Mall last week.
One of the stores was Victoria’s Secret Pink store.
“It’s very unusual,” said shopper Kelly Ruff.
Tommy Bryant agrees, saying, he doesn’t understand why two men would want to steal women’s lingerie. “It’s really weird to hear about guys perusing in something like that,” said Bryant.
Police say one man distracted an employee while the other used a booster bag to grab 144 pairs of women’s underwear. “Wow. I cannot believe it. I’m asking what are they going to do with all those panties?” asked mall employee Jodenia Denatos.
She works at Macy’s and said it makes her uncomfortable seeing these men steal from other stores. “Now we got to watch over them to watch and see that they’re not going to come to our store and steal because we don’t want that,” said Denatos.
Shoppers say they can’t understand why the men would do that. “It’s really hard to imagine what they would be doing with this product,” said shopper Kelly Ruff.
Police believe they are the same two guys seen at the sunglasses hut last week. One is seen snatching a pair of sunglasses.
Police ask if anyone has any information to contact Crimestoppers: 1-800-780-TIPS.
