JERSEY BELLE
RECAP FOR AUGUST 4, 2014
Hello, and welcome to Jersey Belle on Bravo. This show is special for me because my friend Jaime Primak Sullivan is the star and those of you who know me know I will walk to the ends of the earth (in my six inch Just Fab stilettos!) for my friends and family. This is my way of supporting her and thanking her for being an inspiration to me.
Jaime is a New Jersey girl who is trying to adapt to life in Alabama. She ended up in Alabama when she met and married her husband Michael. Their love story of how they met in the same cafe–twice!–and took it slow is so romantic. As she tells their story, she is taking care of her three kiddos, Olivia, Max and Charlie. We also see them get photographed by her friend Arden, who has done photo shoots for President Obama.
There are some tears with the kids, but she says that although she is tough on them they are her whole world. She also talks about how much she loves her husband and she would go anywhere with him. Again, their love story is so sweet! I love how she says he balances her out, so to speak.
Jaime goes dress shopping with Arden. We get a bit of background on their friendship and find out that Arden initially thought Jaime was a B because she told her she looked like Ellen DeGeneres. We also find out this is Arden’s third wedding.
Arden calls Jaime her guilty pleasure.
Their friend Danielle joins them and they talk about the proper attire for Arden’s pre-wedding tea party. Jaime wants to wear fancy shorts, but they don’t understand why because the tea is an excuse to dress up.
Jaime says she doesn’t do tea parties unless they involve LONG ISLAND ICED TEAS. She is helping plan the party and offers to bring cannolis. She is shocked when people don’t know what they are. I am right there with you, sister.
Jaime goes out with her friends and they are shocked when she takes off her shoes and shows off her tattoo. The girls love her, but are shocked by what comes out of her mouth. I begin to wonder if Jaime is my long lost big sister.
Danielle is having her house featured in a magazine. We also find out that she and her husband are trying to have a baby, but it hasn’t happened yet. They think God has a plan.
Jaime and her friend Luci go shopping with Luci’s daughter. They are best friends and we learn that Luci is divorced. Luci also has a thing for monogramed items.
Later that day, we see Jaime and her friend Leigh Ann cook for Arden’s tea party. Leigh Ann is the friend you call when you want to have fun while you cook. There is a joke about cracking nuts, no pun intended.
We get a bit of background on Arden and her fiance William. She is apparently marrying into Mountain Brook. They go horseback riding and we find out they met when she did a photo shoot at his house. She says she was a wreck that day because she was in workout pants and didn’t shower. She says they work because she is not a typical Mountain Brook girl.
All the girls are getting ready for the tea party. They also leave Arden advice on how to have a happy marriage. The girls worry about Jaime and if she will behave appropriately. Her advice is to work on her gag reflex and thou shalt not kill.
At the party, everyone mingles and wonders why Arden is running so late. When she finally arrives, Jaime tries to find out what is wrong, but Arden says they will talk later.
When it comes time to open gifts, it is all china and silver. Jaime is not allowed to give her the lingerie she got her and there are some virginity jokes.
When Jaime leaves, Arden tells her that she was upset because her mother-in-law didn’t show up. Arden gives her a tea cup and wonders if she is going to the dress fitting.
Jaime introduces her kids to the joys of Bon Jovi and dealing with traffic. This is exactly how my future kiddos are going to be raised.
We learn more about how when Luci was married, she tried so hard to be perfect and how difficult her divorce was, especially when people started turning on her. It completely breaks my heart and I just want to give her a hug. She says Jaime had her back from day one. Jaime says there was a lot of judgement during that time and she actually called people and threatened to beat people up for picking on her friend. Again, this is SO me!
Luci has a new boyfriend named Jeff and I truly hope it works out because she seems to be so happy. They plan to move in together soon and she wants them to be a true family.
Jaime is with Arden at her dress fitting. Arden gives a toast and Jaime makes a joke about wearing white. She also admits her dress came from David’s Bridal, which surprises the other girls.
Arden says this may be her third wedding, but it is William’s first, so she wants it to be special.
Football is about a big a deal in Alabama as it is at Penn State, where I currently live…..so it is going to be a big part of the wedding.
Jaime drops the bombshell that she will be in LA before the wedding and that she will not be back in time for the ceremony. Arden is very upset, but Jaime says there is nothing she can do. She feels bad, but says she had no idea that the ceremony was at three.

Victoria’s Secret Angel Elsa Hosk on Resisting Fall Trends and This Year’s …

Now, Victoria’s Secret Angels are women (albeit tall, gorgeous, genetically blessed women) of many talents. Alessandra Ambrosio dabbles in fashion design, Karlie Kloss is an accomplished pastry chef, and Gisele Bundchen can belt out the classics with the best of them. But did you know VS Angel Elsa Hosk used to be a professional basketball player in Sweden? That’s pretty badass, if you ask me. So it makes total sense that she’s the face of the Pink line, which is full of versatile, sporty pieces perfect for fearless cool girls like Elsa.

I had a chance to speak with Elsa when she shot the fall campaign way back in May, and even then the easygoing model was more than ready to chat with me about fall style, her resistance to trends, and—oh yes—the annual Victoria’s Secret runway show, which is moving to London this year.

GLAMOUR: So what trends are you looking forward to wearing and styling for fall?
Elsa Hosk: I think I always have the same style. But if I see a trend long enough, I might catch on to it. But it has to be around for a while for me to warm up to it. But for fall, I always like big coats, velvet coats, tall boots, just comfortable [pieces], and I’m really into muted colors. And for lingerie, something fun and bright.
What are some of your tips to transition your summer wardrobe into the next season?
EH: My favorite way to style outfits is to really use a lot of pieces in your closet. I have a lot of jackets, for example. So you can wear the same summer outfit, but throw on a jacket or the other way around. Just wear a chunky knit with your light summer pants. I don’t think you necessarily have to put away your summer closet to go into fall. You can incorporate the fall pieces into your normal summer wardrobe.
What are some of your favorite pieces from the fall Victoria’s Secret Pink line?
EH: There is this new pant, it’s called the Gym Pant. It’s skinnier than the other pants and a little bit lighter, and it just looks really cool very flattering and it goes with basically everything in your closet. You can mix and match with other stuff in the collection. And also there’s a new bra that I really love it’s the Wear Everywhere Bra, and it goes three different ways. So if you wear a low-cut tank or something showing your back, you can really show it off and it looks really cute.
So what fall staples are you looking forward to buying?
EH: I always buy the same things. I have about a million sweaters and a million jackets, so I’m sure I’ll get some more of that. I love chunky turtleneck sweaters and vintage Levi’s. I’m really easy. I’m also really into vintage clothing.
What are some of your favorite vintage pieces to buy and places to shop?
There’s a shop in New York called Narnia Vintage. They have really good stuff. Right now we’re in Los Angeles, so I have the day off tomorrow, I’m sure I’ll go. We’ve been talking about it—I’m sure we’ll go shop. Just anything I can find that’s unique and cool, I will get.
SO, what can you tell us about the annual Victoria’s Secret runway show that’s taking place in London this year?
EH: Oooh…I’m so excited we’re going to London. I think it’s such a cool change from the past couple of shows that have been in New York. It’s going to be a new crowd, new buzz, and new atmosphere, and we’re all just super excited about it. I’ve only been to London a couple times, but I haven’t really gotten to see London. So I’m really excited to just walk around and get to know the city a bit as well. But first, I can’t tell you anything because everything is so secret. But it’s going to be a really epic show this year.
We’re all really excited for it.
EH: I know, I am too. I’m dying to find out, but you’ll just have to watch the show. And the musical talent is always revealed before or at the actual show…some of us don’t even know, so…
Hmm…Like a British musical artist, maybe?
EH: That would be cool, that would be cool.

Who do you think will perform on the runway? Are you excited for the London runway show? And which Pink outfit do you like best on Elsa?
