For this summertime session, Interfilière Paris will offer a wide array of events with a special focus on fibers and beachwear—each with their own dedicated areas. The show is slated for July 5-7 at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles.

Expect to see a wide use of sporty influences as a design element, coupled with intense colors. Textile trends will be organized in four themes: Wuthering Heights, an epic and romantic take on rich and luxurious textures; Bloomsbury, a bohemian interpretation of Virginia Woolf’s intellectual and artistic viewpoint; Beatrix Potter, where soft, snugly textures come to life with fairy tale aplomb; and David Hockney, a colorful, season-less world of prints for cruise and demi-season.

The show kicks off the 2016 beachwear season with the new “Momenti di Passione” space dedicated to innovation and performance in the category. For the first time, prototypes will walk the runway for inspiration. The project is managed by Jos Berry from Concepts Paris with guest designer Paola Maltese, who will create a live trend book.

The space will also include a boutique with upcycled, spin-off products made from past trade show billboards and graphics, and a business networking center to help visitors make the best purchasing choices possible.

A host of presentations and information panels are slated during the show, highlighting new fibers and innovations in stretch, shine, comfort, perspiration wicking and more. Visitors can also stay atop buzz-worthy trends by attending seminars on new digital trends, beachwear best-sellers, sports influence on beachwear and glean a sneak peek at Summer 2016 trends during a presentation by Jos Berry.

Attendees can start planning their trade show visit with the free mobile app, Lingerie Swim Shows, which enables visitors to keep the exhibitor list, conference program, events calendar, maps and the latest news in the palm of their hand.

7 Unforgettable Looks from La Perla’s Men’s Collection

One of the complaints about men’s shows is that they feel like a lot of the same, over and over, but La Perla is doing their part to keep things interesting. Last week at Pitti Uomo in Florence, Italy, the brand launched a new concept of lounge wear and beachwear for the boys at a runway show to show their Spring 2015 collection. Needless to say, the looks captivated editors and buyers. Word is, creative director Emiliano Rinaldi chose fabrics and details typically taken from the world of feminine lingerie and gave them a new spin for guys, inspired by the submarine world. In the show notes on our seats, we learned that “the symbol of the mood is an evocative and surreal print of a flying oyster protecting a pearl that has been transformed into a mysterious eye.” Rinaldi broke it down further: “For me, the oyster is a symbol of something that creates emotion, and at the same time knows how to protect it. I don’t think there could ever have been a more appropriate name for the company, given what it has created over history. The eye is the element every human uses most to express itself. But all of this wasn’t enough, so I added a pair of wings. Because it’s important to always fly beyond your limits.”
