The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is less than a week away, but Angel Lily Aldridge has already been busy preparing for her starring role in the runway event by modeling this year’s beautiful Fantasy Bra in a stunning behind the scenes shoot.

In a series of candid snaps, Lily, 29, who gave birth to her daughter in June 2012, can be seen donning the beautiful bedazzled bra, which is worth an impressive $2 million, before striking a series of fun poses for the camera.

And despite the Fireworks Fantasy Bra’s hefty price tag – which comes courtesy of the 6,500 precious gems that have been used to decorate it – Lily looks completely comfortable wearing the luxurious lingerie as she prances around and laughs in front of the cameras.

Although the brand only revealed that Lily had been chosen to model this year’s Fantasy Bra on Monday, the official images of the model wearing the lavish design were taken in New York City back in September – but have only just been shared.

Lily has walked in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show every year since 2010, but this is the first time she has been selected to model the one-of-a-kind piece, which features a detachable diamond belt, which the model is seen wearing over the matching Firework Panties.

And while Lily can be seen posing effortlessly in the lingerie, the bra is actually quite heavy. The total weight of the gem stones is 1,364 carats, while the diamonds weigh more than 375 carats.

Meanwhile, the matching cobalt blue panties are adorned with 126 diamonds and 400 other precious gems.

The bra’s design was inspired by the new Victoria’s Secret Very Sexy Flirt bra, which hits stores on November 11.

The newly-released behind the scenes images also reveal Lily’s stunned reaction at seeing the bra; one picture shows her clad in a pink silk Victoria’s Secret robe, while shrieking in delight at having just seen the bejeweled design, which is laid out on a table in front of her.

Other images see her being dressed in the bra, after having her make-up done for the shoot, while in others she can be seen posing against a bedroom doorframe, jumping on a bed and lying across the bright white sheets.

Lily said on Monday that she was extremely honored at being chosen to wear the bra, which was designed by Mouawad jewelers; she posted an Instagram photo of her striking a sultry pose in the eye-catching lingerie.

‘I can’t believe it’s finally been announced!’ she wrote, thanking Victoria’s Secret for choosing her and calling it an ‘amazing honor’.

One person wrote: ‘Finally it’s your turn! Congrats,’ while another fan added: ‘You deserve it so much, Lily! I’m so happy for you. I’m sure you will rock the runway, like always!’

However, some people were not so pleased with Victoria’s Secret’s selection.

One user commented on the shot: ‘Lily is very dull,’ saying that the legacy of the Fantasy Bra has now been ‘destroyed’.

Other people said that the model didn’t deserve the honor, and that she had a ‘bad’ runway walk.

But fellow Victoria’s Secret beauty Gigi Hadid, 20, was excited for her pal, tweeting at Lily: ‘So happy for you Lils!’

Last year, the lingerie brand debuted two versions of the Fantasy Bra, which were worn by Alessandra Ambrosio, and Adriana Lima.

They rocked the dazzling $2 million Dream Angels Fantasy Bras, which were adorned with 16,000 rubies, diamonds and sapphires, at the catwalk show on December 2.

Over the past two decades, the bra has been worn by some of the industry’s biggest supermodels such as Claudia Schiffer, Tyra Banks, Heidi Klum, and Gisele Bündchen.

The most expensive one was the $15 million Red Hot Fantasy Bra and Panties worn by Gisele, 35, in 2000.

On December 8, Lily can be seen wearing this year’s bra during the ‘Fireworks’ section of the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

But it looks as though Alessandra Ambrosio will be ditching her wings for some devil horns this weekend as the model was seen purchasing spooky Halloween costumes and props while out with her two children Anja, seven, and Noah, three, in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The family looked to be revelling in their afternoon of fancy dress shopping as they rifled through the store’s creepy supplies.
