JERSEY CITY, N.J. — A pervert who posed as a Victoria’s Secret shop owner lured a naive 15-year-old Brooklyn girl to a sham office, photographed her naked and raped her, officials said Tuesday.

When agents raided the Jersey City office of Gregory John Schaffer they found video cameras, sex toys, handcuffs, condoms and photos of naked or swimsuit-clad teenage girls, court documents said.

Investigators also discovered employment applications and a document titled “Sex Contract.”

Brooklyn federal prosecutors said Schaffer found an ad on Craigslist posted by the girl, who was looking for a part-time job.

Schaffer, 33, of Bayonne, then contacted the girl and portrayed himself as the owner of several retail outlets — including a Victoria’s Secret store — according to a complaint filed by Assistant US Attorney Pamela Chen.

During a later employment interview, he offered the girl a job at the sexy-undergarments shop and asked her to sign a document.

When she complied, he then allegedly told her that she had signed a contract obliging her to have sex with him.

When the girl balked, Schaffer threatened to sue her grandmother for breach of promise, asked her to pose in lingerie with him for photos while he wore a Speedo bathing suit, and then assaulted her on a desk.

He is being held without bail.

‘Players must sign a contract that includes an ‘accidental nudity’ clause.’

Turning sport into a raunch spectacle is sexist and damaging.

A YEAR after the faltering arrival of the glitz-style girls’ beauty pageant in Australia, we are soon to endure an attempt to import another sexist American spectacle to our shores.

The Lingerie Football League is a women’s seven-a-side gridiron league that began in 2009 after the success of the ”Lingerie Bowl” pay-per-view event broadcast at half-time during the Super Bowl. The game is full-contact like the men’s game, but the uniform of bra, panties and garters bears little resemblance to the male uniform, with the exception of shoulder padding.

The LFL will hold exhibition matches in Brisbane and Sydney from next week to generate hype for an anticipated season launch in 2013.

Sport Minister Kate Lundy has called the LFL a ”cheap, degrading perv”, while young Australian women unafraid of having their backsides exposed to millions have indicated their interest in taking to the field.

The US and Canadian ”games” are largely orchestrated for cable television and the primary audience, according to LFL founder Mitch Mortaza, is young college men. The teams have names such as Los Angeles Temptation, Chicago Bliss and Orlando Fantasy, which are more sexually suggestive and less evocative of athletic prowess than the Broncos, Lions and Bombers.

The ”players” effectively take to the field in underwear. Tackles and manoeuvres inevitably reveal even more buttock and breast. No wonder players must sign a contract that includes an ”accidental nudity” clause.

The Lingerie Football League is little more than jelly wrestling repackaged for a mass television audience. Private viewing of porn or a strip show is different to selling the objectification of women as an innocuous ”sporting” event. The LFL is damaging to all women in addition to making a mockery of women’s sport.

We need to consider the effect of the movement of raunch culture out of adult venues and into the mainstream. LFL is not restricted in the same way as an exotic dance or a men’s magazine, and so the upcoming Australian exhibition matches include ”family tickets” that offer discount admission for children aged between two and 12. Women tackling each other wearing lingerie is being marketed as a family night out.

In a recent interview with Melinda Tankard Reist about the LFL, Derryn Hinch asked: ”What about male divers, they wear very brief shorts … will you ban them?” Next time there is a male diving pay-per-view event, predominantly subscribed to by women, in which other men tread water poised to dislodge a competitor’s Speedos, perhaps we should consider it.

Other supporters propose that the LFL is a legitimate sporting event because many of the women who participate have played sports professionally. The truth is there are dedicated women footballers in the US in the Ladies Gridiron League but no one wants to promote or watch their games, in which players are clothed. The LFL selects women who look like centrefolds in their bra and panties, not muscular or stocky women who might be athletically most suited to football.

Female athletes are regularly undervalued for their sporting abilities, but rewarded for their appearance. This is why tennis player Anna Kournikova was often scheduled on centre court, while higher-ranked players without model looks were relegated to outer courts. It’s why the prettiest female swimmers such as Giaan Rooney continue to receive endorsements after retirement, while equal or greater athletes who are not as photogenic aren’t considered suitable for promoting products.

The mere fact that women choose to participate in the LFL because it is the only way they can be paid well to play football in front of a sizeable audience does not make it acceptable or a triumph in a society still striving for sexual equality.

There is nothing wrong with admiring athletic bodies, male or female, nor with adults choosing sexual entertainment, but marrying women’s sport with adult entertainment is undoubtedly sexist. That anyone who questions what the LFL means for how girls and women are perceived and how they see themselves is labelled a prude says much about the way sexism is more insidious than ever.

Frederick’s of Hollywood introduced Americans to the push-up bra after World War II and pioneered the concept of sexy undergarments. But for the past two decades, its skimpy outfits have failed to entice shoppers to its stores or to its mail-order business. Now the company is taking come-ons from potential buyers.

With competition from retailers such as Victoria’s Secret, four straight years of financial losses and shares trading around 30 cents, Frederick’s has hired investment bank Allen Co. to explore strategic moves, “including but not limited to a sale of the company or a business combination,” the company announced recently.

The company has received multiple inquiries over the last six months from possible partners including private equity firms, said Frederick’s Chief Executive Thomas Lynch.

The problem has been seducing customers, Lynch said. “My challenge now is reintroducing folks to the brand today and showing them we have a great product. The problem is, I haven’t had the balance sheet to go out and tell people, ‘Hey, check out what’s going on.’ “

Frederick’s is famous for its racy image, marketing products such as its Hollywood Exxtreme Cleavage bra and Captivating Lace Babydoll online and at its mostly mall-based stores.

Customers at its flagship store on Hollywood Boulevard are greeted by scantily clad mannequins in come-hither poses. Racks of bright-colored corsets, chemises and teddies stand front and center. The storefront evokes the company’s signature red color scheme. Although some companies have emphasized everyday wearable undergarments, the Frederick’s line tilts more toward that of a boudoir costume shop, especially online, with Halloween-ready outfits including its French maid and Shanghai girl get-ups.

The company reported sales of $119.6 million in 2011, posting a loss of $12 million. Its full- and part-time staff numbered 1,922 in 2008; there are now 1,032 employees. It has 117 stores, including recently opened locations in the United Arab Emirates.

Outside the Hollywood store recently, Mount St. Mary’s College students Elizabeth Garza and Joanna Palma said the company’s wares tend to skew more toward women in their 30s.

Garza, 19, said Victoria’s Secret hooks a wider demographic with merchandise for shoppers ranging from teenagers to middle-aged women.

“When you’re young and trying to be sexy, it’s not as serious” as when you’re older, Garza said.

Victoria’s Secret has dominated sales of lingerie the past two decades by turning it into an everyday fashion statement rather than a bedroom novelty, said Richard Jaffe, a retail analyst at Stifel Nicolaus Co. “Victoria’s Secret never really got into the whole indoor sports apparel kind of game,” Jaffe said.

With competitors including American Eagle’s Aerie brand, the Gap, HM and others entering the marketplace in recent decades, Frederick’s has had a hard time differentiating itself.

Frederick’s had been the Victoria’s Secret of its time. Inspired by a World War II pin-up, the late Frederick Mellinger opened a lingerie business in New York in 1946 and the next year moved it to Los Angeles. Renamed Frederick’s of Hollywood, the company soon became famous for its mail-order catalogs featuring curvy models.

But it earned a sleazier image as it became as well-known for racy undergarments and sex toys as for push-up bras, panties and corsets. Mellinger died in 1990 and his family sold its interest in the company in 1997 to an investment bank that took the company private. The company declared bankruptcy in 2000, having been trounced by competitors such as Limited Brands’ Victoria’s Secret. Frederick’s emerged from bankruptcy in 2003 and went public in 2006. It long ago dropped the sex toys business.

Success in the apparel retail sector requires constant reinvention, and Frederick’s hasn’t adjusted to trends, said retail analyst Ron Friedman of Marcum LLC. “It all starts with management and how you market your product,” he said, “and they really haven’t stayed current with the times.”

Friedman said even companies such as Macy’s, which lost customers during the recession, rebounded when the economy started improving. The trick for a retailer is knowing your customer, and Frederick’s hasn’t done that, he said. “There’s no reason Frederick’s couldn’t be successful if they knew who their customer was.”

Shopping at the Glendale (Calif.) Galleria, Miriam Pichardo said she frequents Frederick’s and Victoria’s Secret. Frederick’s reputation doesn’t dissuade her.

“It’s the idea that some people find it more dirty, more sexual, or whatever,” she said. “For me, I don’t care. I’ll shop anywhere.”

A bra fitted with a gun holster is on sale thanks to an ingenious design by a law enforcement supplier from Oklahoma.

The Flashbang bra is attached with a thermoplastic shell that is able to store one of more than 20 hand gun styles already on the market.

Lisa Looper, owner of Looper Law Enforcement which is a company that produces ‘concealed carry gear’, came up with the design to give her the ability to defend herself ‘at a moment’s notice’.

With fans in frenzy, the “auction for charity” looks like a smart move on the part of director, Pooja Bhatt to publicize their latest movie.

“Jism 2” is the much-awaited sequel to “Jism” that had brought together the then-sought after couple of Bollywood, Bipasha and John. The sequel will see Sunny Leone, Randeep Hooda and Arunoday Singh in the leading roles.

Pooja Bhatt is all set to take “Jism 2” to new heights. In an interview, she told Hindustan Times, “Jism was a love story for mature audience, Jism 2 is for mature adult audience. We are looking at raising the bar in every sense – emotionally and sensually.”

Emma Watson apparently doesn’t really like to show too much skin in front of the camera. The 22-year-old actress admitted that she was nervous when told to do a dance routine in a skimpy lingerie for her coming-of-age drama “The Perks of Being a Wallflower“.

“I was very nevous to that stuff,” the Paris-born actress shared to E! News about the scene in “Perks” that required her to perform a dance routine from “The Rocky Horror Picture Show”. She confessed, “It was tough.”

Aside from doing the sexy dance, the British beauty opened up that she was worried about speaking in American accent for the first time. “I really wanted to get that right,” she stated. “But Logan [Lerman] and Ezra [Miller] were very instructive. If I ever said anything that sounded weird, they were like, ‘That’s not right!’ and we would fix it.”

The Hermione Granger of the “Harry Potter” film franchise went on sharing that “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” is a perfect movie for her transition from the famous wizard boy series. “I think Harry Potter fans will love it because it has so much heart, like the Harry Potter stories do,” she said.

“I feel like it’s perfect transition from Harry Potter to kind of more adolescent movie,” the actress who will next be seen in “The Bling Ring” continued. “It’s a little bit of an older tone. It’s darker.”

Watson’s co-star Johnny Simmons, who was once rumored to be dating her, added that the movie might never have been made without the British actress attached to it. “She read the book and became obsessed with it,” he reasoned. “She heard they were making the movie and approached them about it. We wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for her.”

“Perks of Being a Wallflower” is based on a 1999 novel by Stephen Chbosky, who also directs the movie. The story follows an introverted high school freshman named Charlie who slowly comes out of his shell thanks to his new friends, Sam and Patrick. He is introduced to the awkward times of adolescence, including drug use and sexuality.

Watson stars as Sam, while Logan Lerman and Ezra Miller play Charlie and Patrick respectively. They are joined by Nina Dobrev, Paul Rudd and Mae Whitman. The drama is slated for a September 14 release in the Unites States.

“I love this judge. He’s so old,” Hilton, 31, was overheard telling her legal team as she waited to meet with 78-year-old Judge Alvin Hellerstein, who ordered her and Italian lingerie manufacturer LeBonitas to settle their dueling lawsuits.

This is not the first time Kate has modeled for the brand.
