St. Louis, MO (KSDK) – The Saints are coming.

Following a fan vote, the Lingerie Football League (LFL) unveiled the name and logo for St. Louis’ expansion franchise: the St. Louis Saints. More than 8,500 names were submitted to the league for consideration.

The St. Louis Saints will be part of the LFL’s Eastern Conference and compete against the recently named Omaha Heart expansion franchise, as well as the Tampa Breeze, Orlando Fantasy, Baltimore Charm, Philadelphia Passion and Cleveland Crush.

The St. Louis Saints will host the team’s first open tryout Sunday, June 24 at Vetta Sports Club Soccerdome, located at 12320 Old Tesson Road, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. The LFL is encouraging prospective players to come prepared to participate in strength, speed, agility and conditioning drills. Dress attire is athletic (sports bra and shorts) with cleats. Athletes will be asked to bring a photo to leave behind and to arrive at least 45 minutes prior for registration.

The Lingerie Football League 2013 season will be aired on MTV.

SINCE opening its doors nearly three years ago, Vérité Louise has styled and fitted nearly 2,000 Cotswold women into their perfect lingerie.

Boutique owner Verity Symcox is just 25 years old and already runs two successful businesses.

  1. Verity Symcox

  2. Verite Louise

  3. Some of the lingerie on offer

What sets her apart is her dedication to finding the right underwear for the women of Cheltenham.

Trained to style lingerie in the manner of Rigby and Pellar, the Queen’s corsetieres, Verity says comfort is one of the most important elements of modern fitting and styling.

Vérité Louise opened in Montpellier in November 2009 and specialises in lingerie, swimwear, nightwear and hosiery, stocking brands such as Chantelle, Empreinte, Barbara and Selina.

She also runs KnickerBockers in Nailsworth.

And she is destined to become the head of an underwear empire.

She said: “I would love to have four more shops however retail has changed so much since 2009, it is a lot tougher than it was back then.”

Verity chose to open her independent boutique in the Montpellier area, known for its upmarket shopping, bars and beautiful park.

She said: “We have made a mark on Cheltenham and the shop has got a very loyal following, especially because of the fit of the underwear.

“Montpellier has good days and bad days and passing trade is a bit more up and down but we are doing well.”

Before setting up on her own Verity worked in various fashion boutiques before venturing out on her own with KnickerBockers.

One of her previous employers was her mother, Wendy, who is also a trained lingerie stylist.

Wendy opened the Knickerbockers store four years ago, which Verity worked in and ran, until taking over the business wholesale in January 2009.

After opening her solo venture, Verity has since gone on to win various regional business awards and been nominated for national honours. Every single customer is offered a free, bespoke fitting service to ensure they have the right shape, style and size.

And the shop caters for all price ranges.

She said: “It is much more complicated than trying on clothes.

“More than 70 per cent of the female population are wearing the wrong size.

“It is so rewarding when you get somebody in the shop who is body conscious and quite shy and just by changing the bra size, which is so simple, you can suddenly give them so much confidence.”

She added: “The benefit of being an independent shop too is that you get to know your customers and provide a very personal service.

“I am not stuffy at all and I like to be personable and honest.

“If something doesn’t look right I will tell the customer.”

Vérité Louise is situated at 12 The Courtyard and is open Monday to Saturday 10am until 5pm.
