When it comes to lingerie, there can be a bit of a disconnect. Guys like it, but could they please just get a little bit more specific about what they really want to see us in? To sort out what they’re really into, we asked the folks at online shop Yandy to crunch the numbers and share specifics on what guys are actually buying for the women in their life.

“Our male shoppers account for approximately 30 percent of total annual sales,” Chad Horstman, founder and CEO, said. “They purchase more novelty pieces than basics, most likely for a special occasion, but by category, teddies are proving to be a favorite style.”
The skimpy nightie is a lingerie classic, but it didn’t actually claim top spot for the piece men were buying most over the past six months. That honor went to the brand’s faux leather and lace corset. The number two and three items were indeed teddies (here and here), and all three together make for a strong take-away: Men like sexy.
PS: Here’s a hot guy holding up a teddy because, you’re welcome.

It’s Swim Season at Top Drawer Lingerie

“If you’re a 32A cup—or a 32D, for that matter—you can go anywhere and buy a swimsuit,” says Dow Hickam, the owner of Top Drawer Lingerie. “If you’re an F or a G it’s more difficult to find something that works.”
Top Drawer has long focused on serving women with larger cup sizes find the right bra for them, so after a a few years off Hickam and company have added a curated collection of like-minded swimwear brands for summer, all of which are available in extended cup sizes.
“There is a large market [in extended-size swimwear], but the bigger problem was finding [brands] that fit really well. A lot of people make them, but the fit isn’t really good. We consider ourselves a fit store first and foremost so we really wanted swimwear that was up to those standards,” says Hickam.
Top Drawer has long stocked PrimaDonna intimates, so adding their swimwear line was an easy decision, according to Hickam. Lise Charmel is another lingerie brand which has successfully expanded into swimsuits that made the cut. But the dark horse that has been winning customers over is a convertible one-piece swimsuit from Lenny Niemeyer, a luxury swimwear line from Brazil.
“They’ve developed a reputation as being extremely supportive for bustier women and they were recommended by a lot of people and we’re getting a good response,” says Hickam. “Every single salesperson that works here has gotten one of those suits. And my wife has got one, too.”
Hickam after a test-order in spring sold well, Top Drawer has ordered additional suits from Lenny Niemeyer and PrimaDonna and expects to have them on the shelf through the summer.
