Shana Edme, Aspiring Lawyer, Sues Website For Leaking ‘Career Damaging …

Imagine that you’re on track to attend law school but discover that those sexy photos you had taken for a private modeling website leaked and were being posted by media outlets worldwide. What’s an aspiring attorney to do? Take legal recourse, naturally.

Shana Edme, a former model, is suing Internet Brands dba ModelMayhem.com, MediaTakeout.com LLC, and Domains By Proxy LLC dba Bossip.com, in Federal Court for releasing private photos of her wearing lingerie. The complainant claims she had trusted the website’s privacy policy that required “explicit permission” to share photos when she uploaded the revealing snaps to ModelMayhem.com in 2008.

And it gets worse. Three years later, after Edme decided to drop modeling and began working for “a large law firm,” websites began posting the pictures along with derogatory and sexual comments, falsely identifying her as Kimora Lee Simmons’ sister. MediaTakeout.com, one of the defendants in the case, has a particularly noteworthy headline:

WOWZERS!! WE GOT PICS OF KIMORA LEE SIMMONS’ YOUNGER SISTER … IN LINGERIE!! (LOOKS LIKE KIMMY … ONLY THICK) Her name is Shana Lee…. and she looks just like her big sis Kimmy.

Kimora Lee Simmons quickly cleared up the confusion on her blog, denying that Edme was her sister:

Today, it was brought to my attention that there is recently published story on the internet claiming I have a younger sister who is a model. This story is not true as I do not have a sister. I felt the need to clear up any confusion or questions.

Adding to the embarrassment, Bossip.com reported on Simmons’ update with a headline that read: “That Lil Trashy Lingerie Wearing Heffa Is NOT My Sister.” Edme claims that all of this unwanted media attention caused “emotional distress, humiliation and damage to her employment – and personal relationships.”

The future lawyer (well, maybe) is seeking $3 million in punitive damages, claiming that the defendants violated New York State privacy laws. What’s your take on the case? Tell us your verdict in the comments below.

The photos showed Brown posed in a bathroom with his new blond-dyed hair.

Brown later addressed the photos on radio show “Big Boy’s Neighborhood” and brushed off the photo leak, a href=”http://theybf.com/2011/03/15/finally-chris-brown-talks-openly-about-leaked-nude-pics” target=”_hplink”claiming he wasn’t ashamed of his body and has no regrets. /a

Vanessa Williams

In 1984, nude photos of Vanessa Williams cost her the crown as the first black Miss America winner.

In the September issue of emPenthouse,/em Bob Guccione had published a series of nude photographs of Williams, posing with another young woman. The photos raked in $24 million for emPenthouse, /emand Williams was pressured by pageant officials and resigned. She lost her title and lost at least $2 million worth of endorsement contracts, a href=”http://www.people.com/people/archive/article/0,,20197080,00.html” target=”_hplink”according to emPeople/em magazine. /a

In her 2009 book, “You Have No Idea,” Williams addressed the scandal and wrote that at the time a href=”http://uinterview.com/news/exclusive-vanessa-williams-worried-what-parents-would-think-during-penthouse-scandal-4617″ target=”_hplink”she worried most about how her parents would react. /a

In 2007, then-Disney darling and “High School Musical” star Vanessa Hudgens had nude photos leaked online.

The actress, who was 18 at the time, a href=”http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/20631297/ns/today-entertainment/t/vanessa-hudgens-apologizes-nude-photo/” target=”_hplink”released an apology to fans/a, saying ” want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust means the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos.”

Disney issued a statement about the scandal, explaining: “Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment.”

Scarlett Johansson’s nude photos leaked in 2011 after they were hacked from her personal email account.

The photos were meant for then-husband Ryan Reynolds, but ended up online for all to see.

When asked about the photos in an ia href=”http://nymag.com/daily/fashion/2012/04/johansson-discusses-nude-photo-scandal-in-vogue.html” target=”_hplink”nterview with emVogue/em magazine, the actress said: /a

“I don’t want to be a victim and say, ‘Oh, well’ and just hide my head in shame. Somebody stole something from me….It’s sick.”

It seems as if Rihanna is hardly ever dressed these days, so we can barely call this a scandal.

In 2009, naked photos of the singer surfaced online and were rumored to have been leaked by Rihanna’s ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

Though the singer isn’t shy about her body, she wasn’t happy when the photos leaked. She told radio station Hot 97 that it was “the worst thing that could possibly ever happen to” her.

“I just felt like my whole privacy was taken before that [by the injury photo] and then, when that came out, I thought, ‘Oh great, so now there’s nothing they don’t know about me and my private life.’ It was humiliating and it was embarrassing,” a href=”http://music-mix.ew.com/2009/12/02/rihanna-talks-naked-photos-leak/” target=”_hplink”she said in December 2009./a

In 2010, semi-nude photos of singer Christina Aguliera leaked online.

The photos showed the singer nearly naked, wearing pasties to cover her nipples, and another photo leaked that clearly showed a scar on her underarm from breast implant surgery.

Reps for the singer claimed the photos were taken from her stylist’s computer and leaked by a hacker.

Night vision sex tape, Sidekick hacked. You know the story.

The photos include a midriff-baring Munn, a lingerie shot and finally a fully nude photo that does not picture Munn’s face — raising the possibility that the subject is not Munn but a woman who has a similar body type. The photos that picture Munn’s face are likely legitimate.

Munn herself took to Twitter to laugh off the scandal by posting photos of a baby and a cat and writing, “If you ever hacked my phone, these are the pictures you’d find.”

“Jersey Shore” star and mother-to-be Snooki has had not one, but two nude photo scandals.

The pint-size reality star’s nudes first hit the web in April 2010, when a photo was anonymously posted at the website nakedSnooki.com.

The a href=”http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/02/12/snooki-naked-nude-pic-rel_n_460388.html” target=”_hplink”photo showed the reality star naked and posed on all fours, with a thought bubble floating over her head, reading/a: “There are no nude photos nor will there ever be. The tabloids just love snook gossip ;]”

The star had a href=”http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/06/09/snooki-nude-photos-jersey-shore-nude-cell-photos-leak_n_1583167.html” target=”_hplink”another nude photo leak in June 2012/a, which featured Snooki wearing a white robe left open to reveal her body.

A rep for the star told reporters, “Clearly these are old and personal photos that were not meant for the public. It’s a shame someone decided to leak them for obvious personal gain.”
Pete Wentz

In 2006, photos of Fall Out Boy bassist Pete Wentz’s penis rocked the Internet. The photos were orginally posted on the Live Journal gossip site Oh No They Didn’t and the incident a href=”http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=peengate” target=”_hplink”became known as “Peengate ’06″ by members. /a

The original poster reported that she received the photos third-hand, and that Wentz originally sent the pictures to a girlfriend.

Wentz later admitted that he handled the leaked photos “pretty terribly for the first 48 hours,” and went so far as to quit his band temporarily. “But then then what I realized is that it’s not the worst thing on the planet that’s ever gonna happen,” a href=”http://www.celebuzz.com/photos/celebrity-nude-photo-scandals/6th-annual-kidstock-music-and-arts-festival-arrivals/” target=”_hplink”he told Celebuzz/a.

McDermott shared the photo with his 74,000 Twitter followers and although he deleted the tweet, the actual photo remained viewable on his Lockerz account for some time.

Initially, Spelling, who is nursing her newborn baby girl, Hattie, says she was “shocked” and “devastated” by the blooper. But she took it all in stride.

“But it’s like, what am I going to do? I am a mom, I was nursing my baby… [Dean] was so devasted about it that I couldn’t be mad. I mean it was genuinely an accident,”a href=”http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2011/12/01/tori-spelling-talks-tople_n_1123162.html” target=”_hplink” Spelling told CNN/a.

The photo in question shows a young blonde, who bares a striking resemblance to Swift, sprawled across a bed wearing only a pair of blue underwear.

Swift’s lawyers acted quickly, demanding that the fake photo be removed from websites.

A nude photo scandal seems like nothing next to Kim Kardashian’s sex tape with ex-boyfriend Ray J, but luckily all of her nude photo scandals since the video have turned out to be fake.

And most recently, it was believed that Kim’s boyfriend, rapper Kanye West, tweeted a naked photo of his love, but it turned out to be a hoax. The photo in question was actually of porn star Amia Miley, who had tweeted the photo to her own account.

The photos were taken in 1992 by her then-boyfriend Eric Stapelman, and it was rumored that the pictures were stills from a sex tape.

In 1989, then-22-year-old Rob Lowe was caught in a sex tape where it was discovered one of the girls was underage.

A giant snub

Both of them are too gracious to say anything, but there are two miffed theatrical titans out there. Lord Lloyd-Webber and Sir Cameron Mackintosh were passed over in favour of leftie darlings Danny Boyle and Stephen Daldry, director of the Billy Elliot movie.

Michael Coveney, the critic at large at Whatsonstage.com, said: ‘I think there’s a sense of a snub. Both Mackintosh and Lloyd Webber would be the obvious choices.

‘Indications are that this is going to be a highbrow event — a kind of imagining of a mythical England.’

Late night

Organisers
have flouted the usual 7.30pm start because they require dark for
fireworks. The finish is expected to be after midnight.

At
least 100 Team GB competitors won’t march in the parade because they’ll
be competing next morning. And the 75-strong track and field team,
including Jessica Ennis, Mo Farah and Dai Greene, will be in Portugal at
a preparation camp, as their events start in the second week of the
Games.

The home nation is traditionally the
last to appear of 204 national teams in the athletes’ parade. Those
staying in the main athletes’ village have been told they will get back
at 12.30am. The rowers, who are based further away, will return to their
beds by 2.30 am.

Isles of Wonder

The
cultural part of the ceremony has been titled Isles of Wonder after a
line by Prospero in William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. The reason for
the plural is that Boyle is presenting the many different sides of
Britain — from the green Tellytubbyland vista which he unveiled last
month, to the grim and grey industrial landscape which will follow it.

Boyle says: ‘Our Isles Of Wonder celebrates the exuberant creativity of the British genius in an Opening Ceremony that we hope will be as unpredictable and inventive as the British people.’

Pastures green

The main stadium will be transformed into a meadow, with real grass laid over the infield and a game of cricket unfolding in one corner. At one end there’ll be a replica of Glastonbury Tor, the ancient site in Somerset which is linked to Arthurian legend.

In front of the Tor will be a mosh-pit, to replicate the dance area in front of the stage at the Glastonbury Festival. Here, up to 100 members of the public who have bought tickets will be allowed to stand.

At the other end of the stadium,
beneath a giant bell, will be the ‘posh-pit’ — so named by Danny Boyle
because the public there will be reflecting the spirit of promenaders at
Last Night of the Proms.

There will also be four giant Maypoles representing England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.

Urban jungle

The
green will give way to an industrial landscape with models of The
Gherkin, the Houses of Parliament and the Royal Albert Hall which have
been built at a site in Dagenham. Performers will recreate the Jarrow
march of 1936, when 200 men walked to London to protest about
unemployment and poverty in the North-East.

The
NHS will be honoured by real nurses pushing hospital beds around the
arena, and there’ll also be a tribute to the suffragette movement.
Performers will also pay homage to The Beatles.

Soundtrack

Music
will play during the ‘cultural element’ of the show. The 86 tracks have
been mixed by techno favourites Underworld. Among the tunes are the
Eton Boating Song, the theme from Chariots Of Fire, Firestarter by The
Prodigy, London Calling by the Clash, the theme from EastEnders and the
Dambusters March.

Fakery

Animal Trouble

There
will be clouds of fake rain, which will sprinkle the volunteers and
some of the audience. There’ll also be miming by the London
Philharmonic, which recorded its parts of the show some weeks ago in the
Abbey Road studios. Boyle says the problem is that the orchestra will
be at the mercy of the weather on the night, which could ruin the sound.

Formalities

As
Head of State, the Queen will be received at the entrance of the
Olympic Stadium by the President of the IOC, Jaques Rogge. This will be
followed by a procession of the participating teams, nation by nation.
Seb Coe will give a speech, then Jacques Rogge, and they will invite the
Queen to officially declare the Games open.

Lighting the cauldron

The
climax of proceedings is the arrival of the flame at the Olympic
Stadium. It will be carried through the streets of East London by the
final torch-bearer and will arrive at the stadium around midnight.

Bookies
have now stopped taking bets on who gets to light the flame, though
they say they had quite a lot put on Sir Steve Redgrave.

Coe
said: ‘I have no role in choosing who lights the flame because I have
absented myself from the process. I would nominate Daley Thompson, not
only because he’s a mate but because I believe he is the greatest
Olympian we have produced in this country.’

P.S. forget Beijing

Yes,
the last Opening Ceremony was spectacular — but the budget is thought
to have hovered around £200 m. Ours, which has cost £27 m, is not trying
to compete.

Spokesman Paul Woodmansey says: ‘This will be a ceremony which is appropriate for our times.’

Well there won’t be much mystery about the opening ceremony considering these pictures,articles on who is going to perform and take part-surely all these things should have been kept quiet-as per usual.

I’m so sick of people slagging off this country so it’s refreshing to see some positive comments at last. Yes, we have problems in this country, but tell me a country that doesn’t.
