Not only is Stella McCartney known for dressing the stars, but she is widely known and loved for using eco-friendly materials in all of her fashion designs. Well, she is expanding her eco-friendly fashion collections with her brand new “Stella” lingerie line.
The British designer’s sexy, but comfortable lingerie is made from French Calais lace and silk, along with organic cotton gussets and recycled metal hardware.
Women can choose from five different bra shapes including molded underwire, low plunge, strapless and a seamless, underwire-free style. All come in different varieties such as, smooth, mesh or lace fabrics.
Bras can be quite uncomfortable, and some of the prettiest lingerie is the worst. But, McCartney has focused on comfort, as well as style. For example, bra cups come in 8-millimeter-thick-foam compared to the traditional 12mm. This makes them 25 percent lighter than your normal bra.
“Well-made lingerie is key,” McCartney told Zalopany. “Feeling constricted by one’s underwear just isn’t my thing; you need to rely on the quality. It has to fit, function, and do its job first and foremost.”
Now, you can look and feel sexy in comfy bras and panties, all while benefiting the environment.
Keep an eye out for “Stella” while shopping at Stella McCartney, Bergdorf Goodman, Nordstrom, Barneys New York and online at Net-a-Porter.

Director of e-commerce and marketing Jed Paulson told press, “We chose Camille because she was in our ‘Born to Run’ Americana e-book shot in Coney Island and our customers received it very well.”
As for the forthcoming Free People e-book, Paulson added, “It’s a bigger part of our business now and we want people to know more about it. There will be 16 [online] pages with more of a focus on bras and pajamas.”
The expanded lineup of lingerie will be well within the budgets of most fashion fans, with bras priced at $28 and underwear starting at $10.
And it sounds like they’re just getting started on the next level of Free People commerce. “We have an Instagram following of 250,000, which puts us very high as a specialty retailer….We’re [pleased] because intimates is starting to be worn by our customers as outerwear, with some wearing slips out and bras that can be seen underneath our outerwear,” Paulson noted.
